SCAVENGER HUNT

This is what is happening on Saturday.

For the past few years the COFretreats have loosely followed a certain agenda -- classes, eating, games, show& tell, an outing, time to visit, maybe a trunk show or lecture...

We will be doing all of that but we are not renting busses this year for our outing. First, not everyone will fit on one bus. Second, there is so much to see and do in Lancastercounty that to get the driver to stop everywhere would not be possible financially. Third, to load and unload 50+ people at each stop would take up far too much time. So, we are going to travel by POV -- Privately Owned Vehicles.

The idea is to have a Scavenger Hunt on Saturday starting from the hotel in Harrisburg and ending in dinner at the Bird - in - Hand Family Restaurant. Following is a list of places that I have contacted regarding the hunt. Those who have responded with a gift or discount have a higher point value to encourage you to stop in these places. ALL other stops (except gas stations, chain stores, potty stops, etc.) will receive 1 point. Stops on your list that you or the people in your car want to make that aren't on the "official" list will also receive 1 point.

You are NOT encouraged to visit all 30 places. We want no speeding tickets or accidents! We will also have a list of questions to have answered by your carmates while travelling - you will get more answered by switching cars and you will get to know more people! And as in most scavenger hunts you will have a list of possible things to do, get pictures of, tasks to fulfill, etc. All of these will add points to your score but they must all be documented to count towards the prize (S).

Each driver will make up a list of 10 or so places they will drive to and each passenger will be able to sign up to start in the vehicles going to the places or with the driver they want most. Keep in mind most cars will only fit 2-3 passengers so you may not get your first choice. AND(hopefully) you'll be switching cars anyway so please don't fret.

This is the day's planned activity and it is expected that you will join us. However, you may choose not to go but you will be on your own as there are no activities planned at the hotel during the outing. The dinner was paid for in your retreat fee and you will need to get yourself there for that if you choose not to participate.

If you have physical limitations or health issues that will prevent you from anything about this activity, PLEASE let me know via a separatePrivate Message ASAP as we will make alternate arrangements for you as necessary.

The idea is to have FUN, see a part of the country you may never get to see again, get to know your fellow board members and arrive in time and in one piece at an amazing dinner :D

Did I mention that there will be prizes given to those with the most points? Oh, and you may NOT combine your points with anyone, family or not.
