Sunday Sur-Prizes

I am introducing a new feature on the blog to entice you all to check it out regularly. Each week, on Sunday, I will pose a question for you to answer or have you look for something and when you find it, send me a link or a photo of it and the 13th person (each week) with the correct answer will win a prize. Send your answers to COF2013PA@gmail.com.

What do you say? are you game - you might just learn something as well as get a small something. It will be about quilting or board members or Pennsylvania - you know - something along those lines...

Ready?

Set...

Go!

Question #1 - What is the capitol of Pennsylvania? Who was it named after? When was it named the Pennsylvania state capital?
                                          Harrisburg                                              John Harris                         October 1812

Sorry, no number 13 so, no winner this week :(

Question #2 - Of the events, places or shops listed on the FUN page, what would YOU like to do?

Close but still no number 13 so, no winner this week either :(

Question #3 - I have selected a random name from the list of attendees. That name is somewhere within the text of the "FOOD" page. Find it and tell me who it is in an email. If it is you, you will win an extra surprise!

Yay! We have a winner! Congratulations to Angela Nohe/AngelaC who was #13 and gave me the correct answer of Kelley Gutman :) who is also Kblue. I will get her prize sent out this week.

Question #4 - This one should be easy...You will find it on the Travel Info page. Good luck :D

And we have a WINNER! Congratulations to Becky Shaffer - aka Teddylady she was the 13th person with the correct answer :) I will get your prize out to you late this week.

Question #5 - For this one I will draw a name from all the correct answers.  Go to the FUN page and check out the Trip Planner. There are instructions as well as the password and username to log in with.  Once you have logged in you can see the trip I have planned for Saturday - You need to look at it and then tell me what the last stop for the day is...Enjoy!

The latest winner of the Sunday Sur-Prize is...Charlene Grismore / lakequilter! Congratulations to her and thank you all for playing :)

Question #6 - I've listed some of the historical sites and museums around the area in the FUN page. I hope you will go and check it out. There is one I am really hoping to get to - can you guess what it is? All guesses will be submitted in next week 's drawing but if anyone should guess correctly I will send a special prize :)

You all had some really good answers but the correct answer to the place I really want to go to is: The National Civil War Museum. One of you got that right AND she also happens to be the name I drew out of all the players so she gets both prizes! And that lady is Janet Fogel / missmommy :) Congratulations to her!

Question #7 - Ok, this one is pretty practical. But I think it's also pretty important. You will find some educational information about driving in Pennsylvania on the home page. What you need to do is email (or PM) me the answer to my question. Is it legal or not to use your cell phone while driving in PA?

It's true, talking on your cell phone is legal. Personally I don't see why not. Smoking, talking to the person beside you, drinking, changing cd's and dealing w/ kids fighting in the back seat is so why not on the phone? The winner of this week's drawing is ......................... Patricia Anne/Pat Nohe. Congratulations :)

Question #8 - is not really a question, just some fun I generated.  There are no special messages or anything, it's just a word search. When you finish it let me know and I'll put your name in the drawing for the prize.

Question #8  Winner is going to have to wait til later in the day because I had to work this morning and cant get to everywhere you answered. Check back after 3PM.

Ok, I'm home and have drawn the winning - and this one just happens to be the most colorful- word search finisher! Congratulations to Jayardi :)

Question #9 - ok, I want to know are you going to be buying any mud while in PA???

Question #9 - Although it sounds like fun most of us are going to miss the Mud Sales. However, Aliquilt's name was drawn to receive a prize for participating in the Sunday Sur-Prize! I'll get it sent out, I promise...

Question #10 - Well actually this one has 14 questions on All About Quilting. Let me know how you do! I learned something on #4 and I use painter's tape on #11...

Question #10 - It sounds like we all learned something this week :) But there can only be one winner and the name I drew today is ~ gemsq. Congratulations to her!

Question #11 - Ok, now I know this is going to be a bit corny but I had so much fun doing it!
You'll find an original story on All about Quilting. Your job is to read it and using Quilters Cache, find as many quilt blocks as you can. Send a PM or email and tell me how many you find. I hope you have fun :)

I have to go to work this morning so I'll catch you later :)

Question #11 - Hmmmm, not many were in the mood to count the blocks this week...Well, out of the ones who did I have drawn the winning name and it is: Quiltedmagnolia / Pat Richards :)

Question #12 - Let's see what good detectives you are...Which of the 60 COF 2013 Harrisburg attendees have been on the boards the longest?

Question #12 - Sorry, ladies, for being mia lately. But I have drawn a winner! Well, acutally my daughter drew the winner's name and it is a first time entry of...Jackie Hazen/Quiltslots! I will have a new question for you all this coming Sunday :) Oh - and yes, the answer is TeaSea :D

Question #13 - Let's make this an easy one. Just tell me what you are looking forward to most at COF 2013 PA this year?? Send your answer to  COF2013PA@gmail.com

Answer #13 - Well, if all you want to do is get to know new people, put names with faces and meet up with old friends, why are we going to all the trouble to plan activities for you??? No, really, we're happy to do it. This week's winner is lindaJ52/Linda Mathy, congrats Linda!

Question #14 - Check out the "all about fun" tab then come back and answer the question.  Send your answer to COF2013PA@gmail.com If you are going to Hershey and leaving from the Harrisburg Holiday Inn East, how far do you have to travel?

Answer #14 - From the hotel to Hershey city limits on PA 422 it is 7.9 miles. Very close! So much to see and do, so little time to fit it all in. Oh, wait. We can't so I have to choose. I do hope you will get to come early or stay longer :) The name I drew from those who sent in answers is...Lakequilter/Charlene Grismore. Congratulations :) I'll send out your prize  and Linda's too (SO sorry Linda). This week. I promise.

Question #15 - There will be no question this week because I am going to be in Europe and will not have time to do this. I'll be there until I return sometime on the 6th of May. See you next month!
